HAUNTS AND TRENCHES: WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE WORLD ENDS (?)
“The deep in the bull’s black eyes is the cowboy’s science”
(oriki do caboclo)
Get the vision. Focus your eyes on a blurry, color charged image, flesh red. Give me your eyes. Grab it you’re your mouth: the night and the day from the dark river bottoms, cradled in golden stone beds, arrivals from far away, from the woods full of sounds (do you feel the humid taste, from the compost to the green?), turning tides, from spirits turned into stones: we come in renewed skin to catch glimpses. A multisensory creation which crosses multiple platforms, Haunts and Trenches is a shadow in time, an ancestral glitch and a historical delay. A spear thrown at the colony, a machete wielded to protect the offspring, presences that do not end in a necroptic frame, rather scaly snaking through the abyss. A trench that is an open haunt, at the crossroads, at the swamp. A figure passes fast, keeping watch. Firefly and pearl. For whom and how does the end finish? Calligraphy goes in a spiral, so take off your shoes to enter. Agô.
