Drumming

Drumming, a wave of dance, sound and energy, is one of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker’s most fascinating choreographies. Created in 1998, this spinning dance is accompanied by the powerful drums of American musician Steve Reich, which are based on an obsessively repeated rhythm that multiplies itself in different variations. The dance follows the same idea: a choreographic line that grows and unfolds into infinite variations in time and space.

Rosas is one of the world’s most respected and admired dance companies. Choreographer and director Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker created a series of impressive choreographic works in which movement is written into and space. Her work caught everyone’s attention in 1982 with her first show Fase, also based on a variation of moves to Steve Reich’s hypnotic music.
