For another year, Programa Educativo, the educational program of Festival Panorama promotes audience development actions with workshops, public talks with artists, laboratories, residencies, shows for children and volunteer programs. These activities were conceived to stimulate artistic experimentation and the development of different audiences interested in diverse forms of art.

Audience development

 

The program aims to develop a sensitive gaze towards the arts of the body through mapping and contact with schools, cultural and social projects, universities and other institutions. The goal is to give access and free transportation for Panarama’s attractions. Panoraminha is the main branch of the program and it has reached over seve thousand children in eight years.

Conversations by the pool

 

 

The pool of the Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage – EAV was the scenery chosen to host three talks with Brazilian artists: Denise Stutz, Michel Groisman and Alejandro Ahmed (Cena 11). This is an opportunity made available by Panorama so that the audience may know each artist’s researches, work processes and artistic interests more closely.

A conversation about the possibilities of word in dance, the memory as movement and the presence that establishes itself from the absence. The three questions, dealt with on the solos of 3 solos em 1 tempo (2007), Finita (2012) and Entre ver (2015), will pervade Denise Stutz’s talk to the public.

The artist proposes a combination of talking and making experiments with the audience. The goal is to highlight the importance of the relationship with the other in the creative process.

The director and choreographer of the dance company Grupo Cena 11 Cia. de Dança, Alejandro Ahmed will talk about vestige and continuity, a path of contact and artistic creation in the company from Santa Catarina, Brazil, and also about the Protocolo Elefante Project.

Practical labs at Maré

For the second consecutive year, Panorama makes room for renowned Brazilian and foreign artists to share their practices at a beautiful arts center called Centro de Artes da Maré. This activity requires enrollment beforehand. More information may be found on the festival’s website.

Criticism Lab

 

Created in 2012, Laboratório de Crítica constitutes a partnership between the Festival Panorama and the Departamento de Arte Corporal of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ, through the Course on Dance Theory. With previous enrollment via website, its goal is to promote a collective reflection to exercise analysis of works that integrate the festival’s program. The texts produced during the Laboratório will be published on Panorama’s website. From October 19th to November 19th.[/unordered_list]

Artistic Residencies 

Artistic residencies are a privileged space for exchange and practical-conceptual experimentation, fomenting creation, artists’ development and the dissemination of the arts of the body. The participants are selected through public call for entries and the results are collective performances in public spaces during the festival.

Volunteer program

Since 2009, Panorama has been investing in the training of volunteers as an opportunity for young students to enter the job market. The festival works s a learning environment through a training path that includes experiences in the event’s day to day activities in the areas of communication, guest relations, production, technical production, box office and education. For many, it’s a first step in the professional market and some become part of Panorama‘s team the following year. In 2014, about 60 volunteers worked in the festival.[/unordered_list]
