UFRJ´s Theory Dance Course receives the Panorama 2012 Critical Laboratory and Curatorial Workshop .

In this edition, the Panorama Festival held for the first time, a Critical Laboratory through Panorama @ Universities cycle. The event, is a partnership with the Internship Program in the Department of Dance Theory of Body Art EEFD-UFRJ, will be coordinated by professors Sergio Andrade and Lidia Laranjeira.

Fifteen students from  UFRJ´s Dance Theory class will attend the lab, which will approach the following themes:  critical  view towards a dance piece, critic as a translation disposal and the media critics.

The performances Big bang boom (Michelle Moura), CEna Familiar (Celina Portella) and Twenty Looks or Paris is Burning at the Judson Church (S) (Trajal Harrell), as well as the pieces World of Interiors (Ana Borralho & João Galante) and Cribles / Live (Emmanuelle Huynh) were chosen by the laboratory as objects for research and critical analysis.

The critics made during the festival will be available on our website after the event.

The next step of this partnership will be a curatorial workshop with Nayse Lopez, Panorama Festival´s  director and curator, which will be held between November the 26th and 28th at  Arte Corporal da EEFD-UFRJ Departament – UFRJ´s Campus – Ilha do Fundão.
